Scholarships


Tuition is free, but students will need an estimated SEK 7,300 (USD 1007.38 /€ 770.81) per month to cover living expenses.

The MA in Global Journalism is participating in the Swedish Institute (SI) master scholarship program. When you apply for admission to the Global Journaslim programme through the central application process at www.studera.nu/english you have to mark your interest for a Swedish Institute scholarship by ticking a box in the online application.

You must also enclose the Swedish Institute scholarship form together with other supporting documents. By ticking the box in the online application and enclosing the Swedish Institute Scholarship Form, you have completed your scholarship application. Please note that the number of scholarships is limited.

Applicants are also encouraged to apply for scholarships in their home countries.

Visa and residence permit

If you are accepted to the course, you should start the Residence permit process at aonce, as it is a lenghty process. You will find all information needed on the Swedish Migration Board webpage (see links to the right).

Please note that the Swedish Migration Board requires students to show that you have your support secured by means of verification of bank assets, a grant or in another similar manner. The support requirement is at present at least SEK 7,300 per month. If you intend to study for one year or more you must show that you can support yourself for 10 months per year (SEK 73 000 for one year, SEK 146 000 for two years).
